at the hospital, being monitored for contractions. This morning was quite eventful. We had a scheduled BioPhysicalProfile exam at 8:30. However, we were not seen until 10:30 because some how the appointment was never scheduled with the hospital. So after a bunch of calls back and forth between the hospital and the docs office, we were eventually squared away- 2 HOURS later. URGH!!!
As we sat checked in waiting to be called for the BPP I started having contractions. Great just what we need. Eventually, they tapper off. By the time they are gone Joel has called the doc and received orders to go to Labor and Delivery. GREAT!!! This is how it always goes down. There is an issue but by the time the docs examine me all is well.
The nurse just came in and checked my cervix, I am not dialating and the contractions are irregular without much intensity. I am free to go home. But atleast while we talked I learned how to decifer myself if it is the beginings of true labor. The difference is, practice labor will simmer down or go away completely with a hot bath or activity. Real labor, well those contractions will increase with a hot bath or activity. Atleast, I have some more useful information for the next time contractions commence.
